Junior Project Manager
Keep product and tech delivery on track at Kord — support sprints, organise priorities and build hands-on project experience at a growing UK fintech.
About Kord
Kord is an FCA-regulated fintech delivering KYC, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), identity verification, and payments infrastructure to regulated businesses across the UK. We sit at the intersection of compliance, fintech, and trust, helping companies verify who they are dealing with quickly and reliably. Our client base is growing fast and our product is becoming more complex. It's an exciting time to join us, and this role sits right at the heart of that growth.
The opportunity
We're looking for a Junior Project Manager to work closely with our Head of Product, keeping the tech and product team organised and helping to shape how we work as we scale.
You'll get hands-on exposure to how software is planned, built and shipped in a fast-growing fintech, with real responsibility from day one. We're after someone with initiative, a can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of tasks, big or small.
What you'll be doing
Jira and ticketing
Owning the day-to-day health of our Jira boards, making sure tickets are clear, prioritised and assigned
Triaging requests and bug reports from across the business into tickets the team can act on
Keeping the backlog tidy and making sure nothing falls through the cracks
Sprint and delivery support
Helping to run sprint planning, stand-ups and retros, and capturing notes and actions
Tracking progress and flagging blockers or slipping timelines early
Keeping the product roadmap up to date and visible to the business
Admin and process
Owning the product and tech space in Confluence, keeping it current and easy to use
Documenting processes so how we work lives in a shared space, not in someone's head
Managing tool access and licences, and sourcing suppliers and quotes as needed
Communication
Handling routine requests from sales, client success and compliance colleagues
Flagging what genuinely needs the Head of Product's attention, with context
Feedback, reporting and compliance
Logging client feedback and feature requests, and helping to run user research sessions
Building simple reports on ticket volumes, bug trends and sprint progress
Keeping change records and documentation audit-ready, in line with FCA requirements
What we're looking for
1 to 2 years' experience in a project, product or operations role within a tech environment
Organised and proactive, with the confidence to take ownership
Strong written communication, with the ability to explain technical things simply
Comfortable juggling priorities and getting stuck into the detail
A genuine interest in technology, fintech or financial services
Nice to have
A degree in business, management, computer science or a related subject
Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar tools
A basic understanding of Agile or Scrum
Why join Kord
Join a growing, FCA-regulated fintech at an exciting stage
Work directly alongside the Head of Product, with real mentorship
Varied experience across tech and product, ideal for building a strong foundation
Genuine room to grow as the company scales

About Kord
Kord is a London-based fintech helping regulated businesses including law firms, conveyancers, and estate and lettings agents manage identity checks, compliance, client onboarding, and payments from one platform
Founded in 2019 by James Owusu, Kord (formerly known as Checkboard) was built to bring together processes that are often handled by separate systems and teams, cutting out manual work and reducing the risk of fraud along the way.
We work with firms handling high-value, high-stakes transactions, particularly in property and legal services, giving them the tools to onboard clients and process payments quickly, securely, and with confidence.
It's a fast-moving space, and we're growing quickly alongside it, which means plenty of opportunity for the people who join us to make a real impact.
